She was born at Aquafibre in the UK in 1970 and has been in the current ownership for the last 37 years. She is much loved, but we don't age as strongly as her and so it’s time to say goodbye. Nik-Nak has carried us through a lifetime of adventures. When I met Steen I had no sailing experience at all but I always felt safe on her and because of that over the years both my skill and confidence increased - although I'm still not wild about being on the helm to bring her into a marina. We do feel like we are passing on part of our life-story but we are also excited that she has the opportunity to become part of someone else's. And to be fair, the past several years, she has probably had a quieter life than she would choose for herself.
Nik-Nak is a powerful, beautiful yacht designed to bring her crew safely to port be that crossing the channel or the Atlantic, undertaking a circumnavigation of the UK or the world or as has been her recent sailing seasons, pottering around the Solent and Chichester Harbour.
