Built for the incoming commodore of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, Fairwyn raced successfully for decades and won the 1959 Prince of Wales Cup.

In 1980 she was purchased by Stephen and Nancy Carlman and shipped to Vancouver where they cruised British Columbia and Alaska. 

In 2000 they moved on board and spent 14 years cruising the Galapagos Islands, Panama Canal, Europe, Mediterranean crossing the Atlantic twice. Now in Emeryville, California
