CLARION OF WIGHT is a renowned classic racing yacht measuring 13.26 meters (43.5 feet). It was built of wood (mahogany and teak) in 1963 by the Clare Lallow shipyard in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.
Designed by the legendary American naval architecture firm Sparkman & Stephens, the vessel stands as a landmark in the history of offshore racing. It was the very first yacht designed by a non-British firm to join the United Kingdom team for the prestigious Admiral’s Cup. It was also the first Sparkman & Stephens design to excel under the RORC rating rule.
