ONDINE OF ARNE.

A Sparkman and Stephens SHE 31

An attractive yacht with sleek lines and good upwind performance. Designed by Sparkman and Stephens. 31 feet long. Built by South Hants Engineering (SHE) in 1971. No osmosis was found when surveyed in 2017. Heavy-duty, GRP construction, recently renovated.

Large genoa, Selden Furlex 200S furler. Rotating boom mainsail reefing via Hood Line Driver operated from cockpit. Halyards and lines led back to cockpit. Protected rudder, Volvo engine and sail drive. Portside quarter berth, portside cabin berth, short starboard berth and twin V-berths forward. Manual heads and washbasin. Gimballed Neptune 2000 gas cooker, 2 gas rings, grill and oven. Plenty of galley storage space. Fold up cabin table to give more space when not in use. Portside single cabin berth can also be converted into a double berth using an extension located under cushions and table fittings.

New Blakes Heads Outlet sea valve, new Blakes galley sea valve, double clips fitted to all skin fittings (2018)

Dry blast iron keel, fill and fair with epoxy and 5 coats epoxy primer, sandblast hull, epoxy primer and four coats Copper Coat, professionally applied in temperature and humidity controlled, shed (2018)

Re bedded chainplates, new standing and running rigging, professional service of all winches, new mast gaiter, insulated backstay, new emergency inner forestay, new Hood Line driver, two new spinnaker poles and deck storage fittings (2018)

New trysail track on mast down to the deck and new trysail (2019)

New Ambassador Marine rope cutter fitted to Volvo sail drive, new three-blade propeller and new rudder fittings (2018)

60 metres new galvanised anchor chain and 40 meters anchor rope (2018)

Previous owner installed an electric windlass operated from cockpit (believed to be 2016). He also installed a solar panel to the deck.

New midships cleats for single-handed sailing (2018)

Two new water tanks (2018), new Whale foot pump in galley (2019)

New LED tri/anchor light at masthead, New bow and stern LED lights, rewired port and starboard navigation lights (2018)

New cabin LED lights(2019)

New gas locker, new gas regulator, gas pipes and fittings (2019)

Relocated manual bilge pump next to gas locker for easy operation, new electric bilge pump and switching (2019)

SSB Dynaplate fitted to hull and copper strip to aft locker (2019)

New 110litre fuel tank and inspection port.

New engine fuel filter and second additional ‘switch over’ fuel filter (2019)

Repairs to sprayhood (2020)

VHF radio, 12v/240v inverter and spare 12v sockets.

A one ounce, silver Britannia coin has been placed under the mast for good luck! (2018)

Ondine of Arne currently has tiller steering, but she comes with a wheel steering binnacle with an extra compass on top and a fold-down table attached to the binnacle and an electric autohelm to control the wheel, in case required by the new owner.

A good example of a sought after yacht with many improvements and the considerable expenditure spent on her by the current owner. Ready to sail.
