S&S 45 - LIMBAS
S&S 45 - LIMBAS
This classic 1936 Sparkman and Stephens design was built in 1949 at Ah King Slipways in Hong Kong to design #153. Her name is and has always been LIMBAS. She is American registered, duty paid in Europe, currently out of the water in Cyprus. With three owners since new, she has been in the same family since 1967. She appeared in one of the early Wooden Boat books of photographs by Benjamin Mendlowitz. She spent many years in Maine before relocating to the eastern Mediterranean in 1993.

INTERIOR
Owner Comments
She is very much like the S&S NY32 design in all external dimensions, except built entirely of teak, and the interior is more elegant. She weighs 16 tons.
She is currently on the hard in Cyprus.
She is offered for sale as a “time capsule” project. She is 95% original, and fundamentally in great shape, but needs dedicated work.
Estimated scope of work: she will need some wood replacement work around forward of the rudder post to solve a persistent leak, and four planks have sprung about 1/4 inch and need refastening. The rudder needs some rebuilding. She needs re-varnishing and repainting everywhere
